Review - Odin's Ravens - Osprey Games

Decided to give the reprint of Odin's ravens a try with Tyler. I mean how can you not give a try to  a game that has loki cards.

 Every morning Odin sends his ravens, Huginn and Muninn, across the entire world to bring back news of what life is like on Earth. Naturally, after thousands of years, they've gotten a little competitive. Race through the landscape in opposite directions to be the first to return to Odin. Focus on speed, or enlist the help of the trickster god Loki to create shortcuts and hinder your opponent. Can you be certain Loki's changes won't help your opponent instead? There's only one way to find out! The revised edition of Thorsten Gimmler's award-winning Odin's Ravens has been completely redesigned, with new rules and a beautiful new art style inspired by Norse mythology.

Fly around the track and beat your opponent to the finish line.

The first thing Tyler says is "These cards have a odd texture." And with this comment so began the race. we were neck and neck in the first quarter of the race. I pulled ahead and had a slight lead on the turn. Tyler played a bunch of Loki card hoping to add cards to his hand and gain ground but Odin was not with him on this day my friend and he burned multiple cards to cross certain areas and i was able to fly right to the finish.

Dad:

"The art on these cards is magnificent. I really like how the scene portrayed on the cards is extended on the bigger cards that you play."

Tyler:


"The wooden raven pieces are very cool."

Dad:

"This game has a very interesting mechanic in that you have to decide on which cards to draw when you pick cards from the draw pile. You can pick regular cards or Loki cards. And then to decided when is the right time to play these cards. I enjoyed this game a lot."

"I am not into race games that much. I wish there would have been more loki cards to pick from."
