Review: Risk: Star Wars Edition (2015)

The Blurb:

This Risk: Star Wars Edition game lets players re-create the dramatic final moments of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Featuring gameplay for 2 or 4 players across a TIE fighter-shaped gameboard, players can determine the fate of the Star Wars universe through 3 concurrent (yet distinct) battles. Choose to play as either the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire, and use the classic Risk dice to control characters and ships. The object of the game is to defend or destroy the Death Star. Which side will win: the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance?

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Border...

Today was my first time going to the Niagara Boardgaming Weekend, and I had a great time. Tons of people, everyone super friendly, exactly what I expect to find in a large group of gamers. What I was not looking forward to was the border crossing.

Welcome to my Inevitable Defeat.

Greetings Blogoverse,

I figure this is the part of the story where I give a quick background. My name is James and I am pretty addicted to board games ("Hi, James!"). I started into the hobby about 3 years ago, and have played hundreds of games. Mostly with my son, Tyler, who is 10. For whatever reason, he crushes me most of the time, and I don't mean, "Oh you lost at Monopoly," or something like that.  Most recently, he got a military victory over me in 7 Wonders Duel.

The goal of this blog is to tell funny stories from our gaming sessions and give reviews of the games we play. We are coming from way different perspectives on the games, so I think it will make for an interesting dynamic. Some of our favorite games are Heroscape, Star Realms, Cube Quest, and Jak & Poi, but we are up for playing anything...... Except deck builders... We like Star Realms, but we do not like a lot of deck builders. But we will give anything a shot. Thanks for stopping in, and on to the games!
