GENCANT 2016! - Part 1

No no spiderfriends, that's not a typo. When you can't go to the big show, you go to the non-show.

#GenCant started in 2014 on Twitter as Jason Paterson (@nakedmeeple,) Suzanne Sheldon (@425suzanne) and others were chatting enviously about all the Gen Con news in the social media sphere. One fateful Twitter exchange created the hashtag – and GenCant was born. Twitter gamers jumped in head first with enthusiasm by participating in the conversation, tweeting #GenCantContest photos, and donating prizes of all sorts. Soon the event had enough buzz that publishers and designers were asking how to get involved too.

• GenCant is a community created and fueled event.
• Call it an UnConvention, a Virtual Con, or Digital Gathering – just call it fun!
• GenCant is intended to be something a bit fun for everyone who can’t attend the world’s biggest board gaming event, Gen Con.
• GenCant is not intended as criticism or insult to Gen Con.

Day 1 (Thursday)

Me & Tyler played in the #MEGAHABA event sponsored by Haba Games

Thank you to HABA for sponsoring our GenCant2016 kick off event. Nick, from Board,Deck & Dice, will be hosting a game of, the Spiel des Jahres nominated, Karuba live at 7pm EST Thursday night on YouTube. Nick will call out the tiles on air, and then you’ll just place tiles on your board at home as you normally would. Play along live, chat in the chat room with HABA and other players, and share pics of your Karuba adventure. And don’t worry – if you can’t play live, we’ll leave the video up so that you can play along on your own later.




I was able to edge tyler out in this event but it was awesome to play with the video (I played on delay)






Day 2 (Friday)

We played a game a star fluxx, which i have to say might be my favorite version. (Ty won)

I participated in the FAKE ARTISTS GOES TO NEW YORK play along. I Guessed the pink player was just hoping it was Lady Gaga. *Update - Pink was the fake artist and the answer was PRINCE.
