Grimslingers:
Duels is a strategic card game set in a sci-fi fantasy western where
players use elemental spells, their wits, and just the right amount of
luck to overcome their opponents.
Players will face off using a unique dueling system where everyone’s turn happens at once. Careful planning, resource management and luck all come into play for this easy-to-learn yet deep and competitive game.
Grimslingers: Duels is a strategic, micro card game set in a sci-fi fantasy western where players use elemental spells, their wits, and just the right amount of luck to overcome their opponents.
Me and Ty picked our players. "I'm totally larry the llama." said Tyler so i grabbed Gilgamesh. Thegame is basically a roshambo variant where certain elements beat others. If you however draw two cards that do not have a clear victory you then play an 11's version of blackjack. Player that gets closest to 11 wins, exact 11 gets a bonus and over 11 gets a penalty.
1st Draw: Ty gets the first round clean. (Lightning beats water)
Dad 7 - Tyler 10 (he did not gain the +1 because he was already at max
2nd: We go to the cards. Ty stays at 10. I am at 7 and draw again and get 11!
Dad 7 - Tyler 6 (I had a lightning card + 1 bonus hit of an 11)
3rd: We go to the cards again. Tyler gets an 11!
Dad 4 - Tyler 6 (Ty had fire plus 1 bonus hit for the 11)
4th: earth beats lightning
Dad 2 - Tyler 8 (2 Damage to me + 2 health for Ty)
We both reactivated cards with out special and...
5th: earth beats lightning
Dad - 0 Tyler 10
So basically he shut me out. And at the end he said "The earth is so good, it healed me so much."
Board Game Geek Rating: 6.5
Dad:
"I want to say right off the bat that i do not like that the game comes with extra cards for the regular grimslingers game. This seems kinda odd to me. You could have easily added more poker cards or possibly more weapons. Something else to fill the gap. It's light and quick and fun for what it does i just wish it was more. I probably need to grab the regular version of this game."
6/10
Tyler:
"I like that it's a roshambo variant. It is different from another game with that mechanic i like (Jak & Poi) and the use of the elements is nice."
7/10
